Spa Creek Ranch is pleased to present Spa Creek Body Care. A small family run farm, specializing in registered New Forest Ponies, we have recently ventured into the production of mare’s milk based skin care products.

Why Mare’s Milk?

In ancient times people already knew that the milk of mares has a salutary influence on the skin and scalp. Cleopatra (69 AD–30 AD) in Egypt took a daily bath in mare’s milk to keep her eternal youth. The warriors of Genghis Khan got unequalled powers when drinking mare’s milk.

Many nations throughout the ages have regarded mare’s milk as a means for health, strength and longevity. Herodot wrote 500 years before Christ about mare’s milk: “Nutrit, roberat, alerat” which means: “It nourishes, strengthens and gives new energy.”
Spa Creek Body Care has combined this ancient wisdom with the newest scientific insights, and their own experiences to develop a brand new health care line. This series of beneficial products supports and nurtures your skin and scalp in an all natural way.

DEVELOPMENT OF OUR MARE’S MILK PRODUCTS

The products are manufactured by Natures formulae in Kelowna and developed by Dr. Jayasiri Ranatunga Ph.D Biochemistry.He received his PhD at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia in 1995. Dr. Ranatunga has worked exclusively as a Research Scientist for over 12 years in both Institutional and industrial settings. In addition he has undergone training for various aspects of herbal product development, schooled in several countries around the world under the sponsorship of UNIDO/World Health Organization.

As well as having possession of an extensive background in the process and development of essential oils, herbal medicine, nutraceuticals, cosmeceuticals, and the analysis of food / beverage nutritional values, Dr. Ranatunga (Ph.D) is an expert in the evaluation of herbal extracts and products for efficacy in health promotion / disease risk reduction. He is able to blend component herbs using Dose Reduction Indes (DRI) analysis. His ongoing work in the testing and analysis of fruit juices, herbs and herbal products are coupled by his work with antioxidant and enzyme assays.
Due to his advancements with completed projects under six different major research grants, obtained from various funding agencies throughout Canada (i.e., National Research Council of Canada), Dr Ranatunga (Ph.D) has most recently been awarded a research grant by the Agricultural Foundation of British Columbia for investigating the nutraceutical properties of British Columbia’s wild berries and small fruits. Through his work he will help to enable a greater understanding of the ever-changing natural health industry many rely on for good health and longevity.

Dr. Ranatunga (Ph.D) is familiar with ISO 9000, QMS, cGMP, HACCP, Organic Processing (IFOAM specifications), and CFIA Food Regulatory requirements. This powerful combination of skills has enabled an ingenuity to produce unique, all natural products of outstanding quality.
